Kingdom Come by The Civil Wars
[One of the best folk duos I’ve heard. Their voices blend together beautifully. The sound of the song is simple yet powerful. Plus, some pretty haunting lyrics: Tall trees bend and lean/pointing where to go/where you will still be all alone…A cold wind’s whispering/secrets in your ear/so low only you can hear]
“‘O’ is for Yes!”

[Things I Want on a T-Shirt]
Things I Want on a T-Shirt series of posts. Basically, it’s things I want written on a t-shirt and why. From my friends, movies, theatre, books, whatever. It’ll be this and music posts for the next couple of days!
I can only upload a song a day so here’s a list of songs that are on my playlist named “♫”:
Plus some of the songs I’ve listed below. I tend to listen to the same songs for weeks and then I’ll get sick of them and put them into a playlist named after the year and the season. Whenever I go back and listen to those playlists, it’ll remind me of the time and place. So my “Winter 09/10” playlist will always remind me of Prague and London (where I lived and visited, respectively). It’s just nice to go back sometimes.
Deception by Blackalicious
[Someone told me once I made a good album. They were right. Nia by Blackalicious is the shit. So is this song. Don’t let money change yah.]
Wake Up Alone by Amy Winehouse.
[This song makes me ache. Amy Winehouse was a brilliant lyricist: This face in my dreams seizes my guts/he floods me with dread/soaked to the soul/he swims in my eyes by the bed/pour myself over him/moon spilling in/and I wake up alone]
Sol. by Mausi
[My weakness for sexy lyrics: “They undress/her fingers press/his lips play snakes and ladders down her spine.” Yes, please.]
Breathe ft Liam Bailey by Delilah.
[Her voice. Generally, it grates me a bit but it’s perfection in this song. And the lyrics: Use my heart as a crutch for my ego/And hope that I never never fall in love
I’m really bad at updating this blog. I’m going to be posting some songs that are on repeat on my iPod to make up for it.
